MOUNDS, Ill. -- Walter E. Friedman, 96, of Mounds died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo. He was born Feb. 19, 1904, in Cairo. Friedman was a retired bartender. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mounds. Survivors include two daughters, Dola Wilson of Ocean Springs, Miss., Norma Davis of Decatur; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren...

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Walter E. Friedman, 96, of Mounds died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.

He was born Feb. 19, 1904, in Cairo.

Friedman was a retired bartender. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mounds.

Survivors include two daughters, Dola Wilson of Ocean Springs, Miss., Norma Davis of Decatur; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

His wife, Maonia, died in 1995.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge. The Rev. Ernest Browning will officiate.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
