JACKSON -- Walter "Cleve" Brandes, 79, Jackson Route 1, died Thursday, July 18, 1991.
He was born March 12, 1912, at Uniontown, son of Ben H. and Catherine Shumaker Brandes. He and Irene Kassel were married Nov. 14, 1940.
They had lived at Hanks Park near Shawneetown all their married life. He was manager at Hanks Park Station many years. He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, and VFW Post at Perryville. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, L.R. Brandes of Jackson, Gary Brandes of Oak Ridge; two brothers, Otto Brandes of Jackson, Ben Brandes of Uniontown; two sisters, Viola Dunwell of Gainsville, Lillian Lueders of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
