Wallace Schneider

JACKSON, Mo. -- Wallace Steve Schneider, 84, of Jackson died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Jackson Manor.

He was born Oct. 19, 1917, in St. Louis, son of Frederick and Louise Frey Schneider. He and Violet Daisy Christy were married Nov. 24, 1940. She died Nov. 2, 1985.

Mr. Schneider was a retired maintenance engineer. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 639 in Cape Girardeau, and a 50-year member of Pipefitters Local 562.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Ivan Holloway of Jackson; two granddaughters, Cynthia Oliver of Burfordville, Mo., Donna Brown of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Steven Anthony Oliver of Burfordville and Kyndle Blake Brown of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Schneider, and two sisters, Louise Meyers and Hazel Clingingsmith.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today. An Elks service will be held at 7.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
