JACKSON -- Wallace Julius Hotop, 69, of Jackson died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 26, 1929, at Biehle, son of Alphonse A. and Rose Leonell Welker Hotop. He and Thelma E. Buchheit were married Oct. 18, 1952...

JACKSON -- Wallace Julius Hotop, 69, of Jackson died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 26, 1929, at Biehle, son of Alphonse A. and Rose Leonell Welker Hotop. He and Thelma E. Buchheit were married Oct. 18, 1952.

Hotop was a sheet metal fabricator 25 years with Local 36 in St. Louis, retiring Nov. 26, 1992. He then worked for Jackson R-2 School District.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He served a combination of 24 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and U.S. Naval Reserve.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Hotop of Jackson; four daughters, Carolyn Coleman of Polk City, Fla., Marilyn Allen of House Springs, Betty Schearf of Eagle, Wis., and Katherine Hotop-Raines of Jackson.

Also surviving are five brothers, Herbert, Reuben and Clyde Hotop of Perryville, Robert Hotop of Cape Girardeau, Joseph Hotop of Affton; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 7:30, followed by parish prayers.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Church. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
