PARMA -- Funeral for W.A. "Bill" Flowers of Parma will be held at 10 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Parma. Carnell Brittain and Charles Shrum will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Parma.
Flowers, 88, died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 6, 1910, in Center Ridge, Ark., son of Frank and Reasie Palmer Flowers. He and Ressie Lee Hillis were married Dec. 5, 1928, in Center Ridge. She died Nov. 3, 1984. He later married Sara Woolverton Feb. 14, 1987, at Dudley.
Flowers was a retired farmer. He lived most of his life in the Parma area, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Flowers of Little Rock, Ark.; two stepsons, Gerald Woolverton of Malden, Gary Woolverton of Poplar Bluff; two stepdaughters, Twyla Merrell of Madisonville, Ky., Ermalee Blue of Owensboro, Ky.; a sister, Oma Bartlett of Malden; a brother, Arlie Flowers of Portageville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
