COBDEN, Ill. -- Vivian I. Basler, 86, of Cobden, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1914, near Cobden, daughter of Howard and Stella Hall Hill. She married Henry Charles Basler on March 24, 1931, in Cobden. He died June 12, 1972...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Vivian I. Basler, 86, of Cobden, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at her home.

She was born Aug. 4, 1914, near Cobden, daughter of Howard and Stella Hall Hill.

She married Henry Charles Basler on March 24, 1931, in Cobden. He died June 12, 1972.

She was a retired mental health technician at Choate Center in Anna, Ill., and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden.

Survivors include two sons, Henry C. Basler Jr. of Park Forest, Ill., and Larry Basler of Anna; three daughters, Jane Cerney of Jonesboro, Ill., Joan Ayers of Anna, and Judy Gunn of Cobden; a brother, Hubert Hill of Chicago, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Federico Higuera will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
