Vivian Ardell Eakens, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born June 2, 1922, at Mascoutah, Ill., daughter of Edward and Ida Freivogel Klein. She married Burel Warren Phillips Oct. 2, 1940, at Union, Mo., who is deceased. She and David J. Eakens were married May 12, 1973, at Colorado Springs, Colo.
Eakens was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, John William Phillips of Clarksville, Tenn., Burel Warren Phllips Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., and Danny Ross Phillips of Dickson, Tenn.; two sisters, Bernice Arth of Troy, Ill., and Cleo Brade of New Baden, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David Schaffner will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park.
