SIKESTON -- Virginia E. Wright, 79, of Sikeston died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Oct. 31, 1919, at Bloomfield, daughter of John and Sylvia Harrell Proffer. She and Lester F. Wright were married May 12, 1944, in Sikeston. He died May 31, 1994...

SIKESTON -- Virginia E. Wright, 79, of Sikeston died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 31, 1919, at Bloomfield, daughter of John and Sylvia Harrell Proffer. She and Lester F. Wright were married May 12, 1944, in Sikeston. He died May 31, 1994.

Wright was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lester and Michael Wright of Sikeston; a daughter, Carolyn Nickell of Sikeston; two sisters, Mary Wines and Marilyn Needham of St. Louis; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, a half brother, and two half sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
