VIRGINIA M. REID

CAIRO, Ill. -- Virginia M. Reid, 75, of Cairo, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 1994, at Meridian Manor Nursing Home in Mounds.

She was born in Cairo April 22, 1919, daughter of George and Emma Workman Parker.

She was married to George L. Reid. He preceded here in death Nov. 12, 1977.

She was a retired clerk form Emerson Electric Co.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Kay Reid of Chicago; sons Charles Robert Reid, Spring City, Tenn. and George L. Reid III of Franklin, La.; sisters Martha Chrestman, Mounds, and Rose Marie Hill, Cairo; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo with the Rev. Father Bill McGhee as celebrant. Burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery at Mound City. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
