Virginia Harper

BENTON, Mo. -- Virginia Lee Harper, 97, of Benton died Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the home of her daughter. She was born July 3, 1923 in Benton to Emil and Veronica Mueller Bertrand. She married Raymond Glenburn Harper on July 11, 1941 and he preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.

She is survived by a son, Gary Harper of Floristell, Missouri; two daughters, Jane (Cecil) Montgomery of Benton and Gail (Mike) Riley of Blodgett, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Glenburn and James Harper; a daughter, Karen Sullinger; a brother, Joe Bertrand and a sister, Leola Frederick.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the chapel with the Rev. Chad Bles officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in Benton, Missouri.

Masks preferred but not required for services.
