Virginia Lee Conley, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Arthur J. and Ella Louise Schwab Job. She and Richard E. Conley were married July 20, 1949, in Cape Girardeau.
Conley was a former cook at Notre Dame Regional High School, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, former 4-H leader and former member of St. Ann's Sodality.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Karen Mobley of Jefferson City, Mo., Janet (Danny) Freeman of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Celia Conley of Chicago; six grandchildren, Travis Mobley, Kyla Shorter, Tara Conner, Toby Freeman, Richard W. Conley, Kenny Skippergosh; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Allee, Darra Mobley, Harrison Mobley, Camden Conner, Kalen Conner, Keilah Freeman and Aliyah Skippergosh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald W. Conley, on Feb. 28, 1993; a great-grandchild, Gavin Mobley; three brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Parish prayers with a rosary will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
