TAMMS, Ill. -- Virgil Eugene Foltz, 82, of Tamms died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Jonesboro Rehab and Healthcare Center.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in McClure, Ill., son of Joseph and Edith Riley Foltz. He and Dimple Newton were married June 7, 1963.
Virgil was a retired construction worker and had more than 40 years of membership with Local 773. He also was a well-known vegetable farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Dimple of Tamms; a son, Kenneth (Julie) Foltz of Tamms; four grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., Kelly, Michael and Caleb Foltz; a sister, Anna Belle Lloyd of Marble Hill, Mo.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Edith McCormick, Virgie Lipe and Janie Oberts; and two brothers, Robert and Alva Foltz.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment will be in McCrite Cemetery.
