ADVANCE -- Funeral service for Virgil Bagbey of Advance Route 2 will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church. The Revs. Clinton Woodfin and Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.
Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bagbey, 77 years old, died Friday, Feb. 8, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Bollinger County, son of Floyd and Bertha Aldrich Bagbey. He and the former Lillian Speer were married July 20, 1933, at Brownwood. She died April 14, 1986.
Bagbey was a teacher at the former Goose Pond Hill School near Advance, and later was a rural mail carrier. He was a member of First Baptist Church here, and had been a deacon since 1951.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Kidd of Advance; a brother, Verman Bagbey of Advance; two grandsons, and three great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother and five sisters.
