ADVANCE -- Virgil Adam Hendrix, 82, of Advance, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 23, 1909 near Zalma, son of Edward and Sarah Shell Hendrix.

He married Opal Gobble on Feb. 14, 1928 at Marble Hill. She survives.

He was a member of the Bethel General Baptist Church in Advance and was retired from the Teamsters Local 574.

Other survivors are one daughter, Glodena Staats, Zalma; four sisters, Della Cato, Puxico, Mildred Ladd, Cape Girardeau, Lora Massey, Advance and Juanita Laramie, Florissant; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Six sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call today after 5:45 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Chapel, Advance. Service will be Tuesday at the chapel with the Rev. Norman Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park.
