Virgie Bernetha McCann, 75, of Springfield, Mo., died Friday, May 2, 2003, at her home. She was born April 6, 1928, at Whitewater, daughter of the Rev. George Lewis and Myrtle Irene Jackson Ventres. She and John T. McCann were married in November 1971. She was formerly of Jackson...

Virgie Bernetha McCann, 75, of Springfield, Mo., died Friday, May 2, 2003, at her home.

She was born April 6, 1928, at Whitewater, daughter of the Rev. George Lewis and Myrtle Irene Jackson Ventres. She and John T. McCann were married in November 1971. She was formerly of Jackson.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dennis Baugher of Ozark, Mo., Terry Baugher of Springfield; a daughter, Gay Vandermark of Ozark; a brother, Vince Ventres of state of Florida; a sister, Virginia Baker of Springfield; seven stepchildren; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 22 stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Stroderville Cemetery near Whitewater, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating.

Liley Funeral Home at Marble Hill, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
