VIRGIE BESS

SIKESTON -- Virgie A. Bess, 70, of Sikeston died Friday, Oct. 18, 1996, at Missouri Delta Memdical Center.

She was born July 5, 1926, at Willoma, daughter of Oscar and Sadie White Bazor. She and Harold Bess were married Nov. 3, 1945. He died March 5, 1993.

Bess was an operator 23 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone, and then was a child care provided in her home. She was a member of Trinity Gospel Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Morrow of Charleston; a sister, Freida Teeters of Texas; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and a half brother.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.
