SIKESTON -- Violette Reed, 74, of Sikeston died Friday, Dec. 31, 1993 at her home.
She was born Dec. 24, 1919 in Doniphan, daughter of Benjiman F. and Jane Stovall Davis.
She was a member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church and the National Hairdressers Association.
On Feb. 29, 1944, she married Quentin Reed. He preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1992.
She is survived by one son, Steven Reed, Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Linda Gipson, Sikeston; three brothers, Lester Davis, New Madrid, Carter Davis, Parma and Lloyd Davis, St. Louis; two sisters, Mary Louise Scott and Melba Bonds, both of Bell City; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call today after 5 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John Owen, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
