JACKSON -- Funeral service for Violet Elizabeth Wiggins of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas. The Rev. Don Slatton will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Wiggins, 87, died Wednesday, April 24, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 6, 1908, at Neelys Landing, daughter of Carl and Nora E. Clingingsmith Craft. She and Roscoe Wiggins were married Jan. 24, 1924. He died July 27, 1960.

Wiggins had been a seamstress at a clothing factory. She was a member of New Bethel Church and its WMU, and member of VFW Auxiliary to Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Bob Wiggins of Jackson; a brother, John Craft of Sullivan; two sisters, Roxie Kenter of St. Louis, Lillie Wessling of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and four sisters.
