VANDUSER, Mo. -- Funeral for Violet Edith Hughes of Vanduser will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo. The Rev. Joe King will officiate. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery.

Hughes, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Keota, Okla., daughter of William Franklin and Katie Elizabeth Caulk Foster. She and the Rev. David C. Hughes were married Aug. 8, 1928, in Montana, Ark. He died May 23, 1988.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Vanduser.

Survivors include two brothers, Bill and Bob Foster of Vanduser.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
