Violet Faris

Violet Jewell Faris, 101, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born March 13, 1913, in Pine, Missouri, the 13th child of John and Laura Lynn Dale Miller.

Jewell is survived by three sons, John (Brenda) Faris and David (Cindi) Faris of Cape Girardeau and Jim (Betty) Faris of Monroe, Georgia; a daughter, Pat Thomas of Huntington Beach, California; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Faris; a son, Bill Faris; a daughter, Betty Koch; six sisters and six brothers.

Private family graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gordonville, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
