Violet Crain, 93, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the home of her son in Chillicothe, Missouri.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1927, in Asherville, Missouri, the daughter of Louie and Gussie Hodge. She married Loyd Crain on May 15, 1943 in Puxico, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2000.
She is survived by her children, Judy Rhodes of Eagar, Arizona, Jim Crain of Cape Girardeau and Steve (Debbie) Crain of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren, Sam Rhodes, Sheryl Aquino, Andra Alexander, Chrissy Wilferth, Meredith Ogburn, Carissa Crain and Erin Crain; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son-in-law, Larry Rhodes; daughter-in-law, Barbara Crain; three brothers and three sisters.
Family and friends may gather from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Graveside funeral services for Violet Crain will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Alto Pass Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow.
