ADVANCE, Mo. -- Viola Mayfield, 86, of Advance died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Mo.
She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Lutesville, Mo., daughter of Avery Rosewell and Sara E. Hahn Crites. She and Charley Mayfield were married Nov. 29, 1943. He passed away Oct. 31, 1988.
Viola was a teacher with Advance School District. She was of the Methodist belief.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Milton Andre of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother, John E. Crites of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, Phillip Charles Andre and Adam Ross Andre of St. Peters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Charla Sue Andre; a brother, Avery Crites; and a sister, Cleo Long.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park near Marble Hill.
