PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Viola M. Fassel, 89, of Perryville died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City, Mo.
She was born April 24, 1917, at New Wells, Mo., daughter of Anton H. and Augusta (Clementz) Petzoldt. She married Milton E. Fassel July 5, 1936.
She worked as a nurses aide at Perry County Memorial Hospital and Perry County Nursing Home until retirement in 1984. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Survivors include a son, Roy Fassel, of Los Angeles; a daughter, Mary Buckley, of Festus, Mo.; six brothers, Tillmon, Harlan, and Pearl Petzoldt, of Perryville, Herb Petzoldt, of Altenburg, Mo., Harold Petzoldt, of St. Louis, and Junior Petzoldt, of Pocahontas, Mo.; two sisters, Ardene Koenig, of Arnold, Mo., and Shirleen Mueller, of Perryville; two grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until service time.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Chapel. The Rev. Thomas Handrick will officiate, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
