SIKESTON -- Funeral for Vinita Bowen of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Dr. Jim Davis and the Rev. Sandy Schaller will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
Bowen, 85, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
She was born Feb. 13, 1915, at Blue Eye, daughter of William Alfred and Mary Eliza Bolin Ellis. She and Sherman W. Bowen were married Aug. 19, 1939, in Nevada, Mo. He died June 19, 1979.
Bowen was a registered nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and former member of Ladies Garden Club, Federated Women's Club, and Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Edith Reuber of Sikeston; and two grandsons, Kent Reuber of San Mateo, Calif., and Christopher Reuber of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
