JACKSON -- Funeral service for Vincent Joseph Miget Jr. of Jackson will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and American Legion service at 7:30.
Miget, 73, died Wednesday, May 13, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 17, 1919, at Perryville, son of Vincent and Lunette Schindler Miget. He and Dora Tisher were married June 16, 1949, at New Madrid.
Miget moved here in 1971 from Farmington. He was a retired supervisor with Wetterau Foods. He was a member of Immaculate Church, Knights of Columbus, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
He was a member and emergency coordinator of SEMO Amateur Radio Club, and a volunteer with American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
Miget was a medic in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the European Theatre. He received the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Miget of Cape Girardeau, Stephen Miget of Fort Collins, Colo.; three daughters, Sherry Whaley of Desloge, Nancy DinWiddie of Baytown, Texas, Karen Miget of Fort Collins; a sister, Sister Siena Marie Miget of Kansas City, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
