POCAHONTAS, Mo. -- Victor N. Pfeiffer, 80, passed away Monday, March 12, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. The Rev. Howard Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with graveside rites by the Missouri Honor Guard.
Mr. Pfeiffer was born June 24, 1920, at Pocahontas, son of Alvin and Alvina Koenig Pfeiffer. He and Norma A. Hemmann were married Oct. 14, 1944. She passed away Dec. 4, 1999.
Loving survivors include two sons, Thomas Pfeiffer of Westland, Mich., Wayne Pfeiffer of Jackson; a daughter, Joan Humphries of O'Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Gusta Boren and Hattie Hahs of Cape Girdeau; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Mr. Pfeiffer served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, where he was a former trustee and formerly served on the finance committee. He was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson, and lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Pfeiffer farmed southeast of Pocahontas many years, and co-owned and operated Pocahontas Meat Co.
