Victor Eugene Patterson, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Malden (Spoonerville), Missouri to Charlie Benjamin and Ethel Mae Breedlove Patterson. He and Elssie Leticia "Lety" Villavicencio were married Oct. 15, 1975, in El Salvador.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked over 30 years for Delta Companies, including time in Guatemala and El Salvador. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 639 and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1111.

Survivors include his wife, Lety; a daughter, Leticia Mae (Charles Strassburger) Patterson of O'Fallon, Missouri; a son Victor Benjamin (Angela) Patterson of Monticello, Illinois; three grandchildren, Amelia Patterson, Victoria Patterson and Jacksen Strassburger; a niece, Pamela (Mike) Busch of Olathe, Kansas; and a great-niece, Stacy (Shane) Fugita of Littleton, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Jo Bailey; and one brother, Ollie Patterson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be said at 7 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus rosary.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Patrick McDevitt officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors conducted by the Missouri Honor Guard.
