VESTA C. RIDER

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Vesta C. Rider, 85, of Dongola, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1992, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born Oct. 2, 1907, at Dongola, daughter of Bona and Alice Earnhart Fisher. She and Ralph Rider were married Aug. 6, 1925.

Rider was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; 10 daughters, Violet Ulrich of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Elsie Elliott of Dongola, Deloris Mowell of Parkin, Ark., Joyce Inman and Rose Horn of Grand Chain, Earlene Elliott of Richmond, Mich., Mary Allen of Grand Junction, Mich., Lillie Houseman of Anna, Sharon Gardner of Jonesboro, Fern Larry of Olmsted; four sons, Lowell, Melvin, Sam and Ernest Rider of Dongola; a sister, Ethel Dean of Anna; two brothers, Audie and Hezzie Fisher of Dongola; 48 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, a grandson and great-grandson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Williams will officiate, with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at Wetaug.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola after 5 p.m. Sunday, and Monday until service time.
