PULASKI, Ill. -- Vertie Johnson, 78, of rural Pulaski died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at her home. She was the state supervisor of the Southern Illinois Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ of rural Pulaski. PULASKI, Ill. -- Vertie Johnson, 78, of rural Pulaski died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at her home.

She was the state supervisor of the Southern Illinois Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ of rural Pulaski.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Pulaski. Local services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the church, with Rob Johnson officiating.

Visitation will also be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Carbondale, Ill. State services will be at noon Saturday at the church, with Bishop Hugh Cawthon of the Southern Illinois Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ officiating.

Burial will be Monday in the Mound City National Cemetery.

Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
