Verta Lee Oller, 95, of Jackson, Tenn., died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Jackson, Tenn.
She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Miller City, Ill., daughter of Roy A. and Ersa Morningstar Willis.
Verta was a bookkeeper at Piggly Wiggly Corp. more than 30 years. She was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church since 1946.
She and her husband, Frank, founded the Golden Circle Chapter of Good Sam Camping Club, which was the first chapter in Tennessee.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Joyce Bumpus of Arlington, Tenn.; four grandsons, Dan Bumpus (Nancy) and Tim Bumpus (Mary) of Arlington, Tom Bumpus (Angie) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Scott Bumpus (Angie) of Medina, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren, Kristi Bumpus (Wes), Lee Bumpus, Alex Bumpus McDonald (Josh), Haiden Diffee, Carter Bumpus and Brandon Bumpus; four great-great-grandchildren, Mason McDonald, Landon Smith Bumpus, Jaxon Smith Bumpus and Drake Smith Bumpus; a sister, Lucille Miller of Olive Branch, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Frank Oller; and a sister and brother.
The funeral was Tuesday at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel in Jackson, Tenn. The Rev. Rene Mitchell officiated, assisted by the Rev. Ron Hale. Interment was in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
