ANNA, Ill. -- Versia M. Highland, 84, of Anna, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, at City Care Center. She was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Cobden, daughter of Walton and Dorothy Hankla Ballard. She and John N. Highland were married in 1934. He died Oct. 3, 1989...

ANNA, Ill. -- Versia M. Highland, 84, of Anna, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, at City Care Center.

She was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Cobden, daughter of Walton and Dorothy Hankla Ballard. She and John N. Highland were married in 1934. He died Oct. 3, 1989.

Highland was a retired postal worker.

Survivors include a brother, Royal Ballard of Littleton, Colo.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
