Vernon L. Pruitt, 45, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1993, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 31, 1948, at Sikeston, son of Charles and Grace Williams Pruett.
He married Sharon Hodgkiss, Nov. 22, 1969, at Sikeston.
Pruitt worked for Procter and Gamble until he retired in 1983.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Pruitt was also the Commander of the VFW Post 3838 from June 13 to the time of his death.
Survivors include his mother of Chaffee; his wife; a son, Darrin Pruitt of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Stephanie Pruitt of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Charles Pruett of Chaffee, David Pruett of Morley, Mo.; two sisters, Francis Schmidt of Hillsboro, Mo., Betty Jo Carnell of Dothan, Ala.; and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Military rites will be performed by VFW Post 3838.
