ORAN, Mo. -- Vernita Marie Bucher Glueck Schott, 89, of Oran passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 23, 1926, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to the late Cletus and Clara Gosche Bucher. Vernita married Lawrence Andrew Glueck on July 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death May 9, 1977. She married Clarence Schott on June 25, 1990, who also preceded her in death in June 2002.
She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and a member of the Saint Ann Sodality.
She worked many years as a floor lady at Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee, Missouri, and then later she worked and retired from Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley (Morris) Hahn of Oran; three sons, Marvin Glueck of Oran, Charles (Donna) Glueck of Oak Ridge, Missouri, and David Glueck of Oran; two sisters, Georgianna (Albert) Kielhofner of Perkins, Missouri, and Rose (Terry) Pobst of Oran; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Jerome Bucher; a brother-in-law, Albert Kielhofner; a sister-in-law, Lena (Herman) Bucher; a daughter-in-law, Becky Glueck; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, concelebrated by Father Randy Tochtrop and Father Normand Varone. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
