Vernie F. Langdon, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Feb. 3, 1908, in Wright County, Mo., son of John and Lillie McKeel Langdon. He and Beatrice Calvert were married Nov. 1, 1937, at Amity, Mo. She died Oct. 20, 2001.
Langdon was a dairy farmer in Gentry, Mo., and a livestock salesman in St. Joseph, Mo. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in St. Joseph, Masonic Lodge in Stanberry, Mo., and co-founder and member of Lutheran Home Men's Club.
He is survived by a son, Bill Langdon of Tamms, Ill.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
There is no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Langdon farm, with the Rev. James Hart officiating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
