Vernice P. Yount, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Nov. 15, 1909, in Crump, Mo., daughter of Francis M. and Lillie Mae Ackman Craft. In 1968, Yount retired from Snyder Barge Co. in Cape Girardeau, where she had been a cook for 20 years. Vernice P. Yount, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 15, 1909, in Crump, Mo., daughter of Francis M. and Lillie Mae Ackman Craft.

In 1968, Yount retired from Snyder Barge Co. in Cape Girardeau, where she had been a cook for 20 years. She was a member of Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Crump.

Survivors include two sisters, Alpha Hedge of Cape Girardeau and Vivian Proffer of Whitewater, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Joe Allen will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
