ADVANCE -- Vernice E. Garner, 76, of Advance died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 3, 1923, at Sank, son of John and Dela Masters Garner. He and Mildred Lee Moore were married Nov. 21, 1942, at Steele.
Garner was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronnie Garner of Cape Girardeau, Don Garner of Advance, Gary Garner of Natchitoches, La.; two daughters, Saundra Rehm and Gayle Simmons of Advance; a sister, Velma Lee of Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Revs. Brad Moore and Kim Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
