ST. PETERS, Mo. — Verna Sue Haney, 79, of St. Peters, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022. in St. Charles, Missouri.
She was born Dec. 21, 1942, in St. Louis to Vernon and Lucille Wells Lewis. Jack L. Haney and Verna were united in marriage June 18, 1966.
Verna was a devoted Christian, and enjoyed spending time with family. She loved to laugh, have a good time, shop and decorate. She was kindhearted and thoughtful. She will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
Verna is survived by her husband, Jack L. Haney; daughter, Jeri S. Ott (John) Gustafson; sons, Terry V. Ott and James M. Haney; grandson, Eric A. Gustafson; and granddaughter, Kaylee N. Gustafson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ivan Anderson.
Graveside service will be at noon today at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. A celebration of her life is to be announced.
