DONGOLA, Ill. -- Verna Fisher, 94, of Dongola died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Jonesboro Health Care Center in Jonesboro, Ill.
She was born Nov. 25, 1908, in Dongola, daughter of Levi and Armanda Lentz Sivia. She married Millie Lawrence, who died Aug. 5, 1934. She later married William Fisher, who died Nov. 4, 1950.
Fisher had been a cook at Dongola School. She was a member of Dongola Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Douglas and Betty McIntire of Dongola; a son, Bob Fisher of Dongola; two stepdaughters, Pauline Parker of Elgin, Ill., Billie Kelley of Jonesboro; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with John Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery.
