CHARLESTON -- Funeral Mass for Verna Marie Bratcher of Charleston will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Henry's Catholic Church. The Rev. Rich Lause will officiate, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
McMikle Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
Bratcher, 89, died Wednesday, May 22, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born June 4, 1906, in the Crosno community of Mississippi County, daughter of John Hilery and Martha Susan Duty Roberts. She and William Henry "Buddy" Bratcher were married Oct. 9, 1949. He died Dec. 7, 1986.
Bratcher moved to Charleston 19 years ago. She was a member of St. Henry's Church, its Quilting Club and Legion of Mary.
Survivors include a son, Robert "Bud" Bratcher of Tyler, Texas; four daughters, Ruby Lyles of Bismarck, Martha Lawrence of Bunker, Glenda Pritchett of East Prairie, Frances Marlowe of Arnold; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and a granddaughter.
