Verna Jean Boyd, 92, of Jackson passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at the Lutheran Home.
Verna was born Aug. 15, 1929, to Earl and Sidonia Bangert Seabaugh in Sedgewickville, Missouri. She and Thomas Boyd were married Aug. 17, 1947, in Sedgewickville. He preceded her in death Sept. 22, 2001.
Verna was a member of the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church.
She is survived by four children, Jerry (Pam) Boyd of Patton, Missouri; Janet (Chuck) Heady of Cape Girardeau; Jim (Robin) Boyd of Sedgewickville; and John (Cathy) Boyd of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Monteith of Jackson; Dee Loflin of Dexter, Missouri; Carson (Amy) Heady of St. Louis; Brandon (Erica) Boyd of Sedgewickville; Holly (Jason) Floyd of Millersville; Kristen (Luke) Hembree of Starkville, Mississippi; and Loren Boyd of St. Louis; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Verna was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Boyd; a grandson, Jim Monteith; a brother, Kenny Seabaugh; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Boyd; and special friend, J.D. Propst.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Sedgewickville Cemetery in Sedgewickville, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Sedgewickville Cemetery Fund.
