SCOTT CITY -- Verlon Edward Parker, 77, of Scott City, died Wednesday, April 6, 1994, at home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Hot Springs, Ark., son of Edward and Jessie Phillips Parker. He and Alberta Wright were married July 5, 1937, in Charleston. She died Oct. 25, 1988.
Parker was a retired engineer with Cottonbelt Railroad.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Parker of Ste. Genevieve, Benjamin Parker of Pine Bluff, Ark., Verlon Parker of Scott City; two daughters, Sandra Little and Verla Bertrand of Scott City; a half brother, Ed Parker of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
