MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Vera M. Windisch, 95, of Memphis, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, in Memphis.
She was born May 6, 1922, in Cape Girardeau to the late Joseph and Cora (Hartle) Zoellner.
Vera was a rental-property owner alongside her late husband, Otto, and helped manage the properties. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. Vera enjoyed knitting and was an excellent baker, known for her chicken and dumplings. She loved her family and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Loving survivors include a son, Wayne Windisch of Cape Girardeau; granddaughters, Crystol (Richard) Faskell of Memphis and Stephanie Windisch and Shana Crigger, both of Cape Girardeau; 10 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otto; and four siblings.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford Officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
