Vera Jean Hall, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1936, in Egypt Mills to Edward C. and Alma V. (Huey) Foeste.
Vera and John E. Hall were married March 5, 1955, in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and worked for the Cape Girardeau County Collectors Office for 25 years, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John E. Hall of Cape Girardeau; son, John Thomas (Debra Sue) Hall of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Debra A. (Matthew) Sopko of Bonne Terre, Missouri, and Kathy S. Ritter and Julia T. (Tim) Karraker of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Kenny (Judy) Foeste and James (Joan) Foeste of Cape Girardeau; sister, Susan Richards of Anna, Illinois; five grandchildren, Kristin (Jon) Hinrichs, Rachel (David) Wynn, James (Andrea) and John Ritter and Erik Sopko; and one great grandson, Levi Wynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Rogers officiating.
Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church.
