DEXTER -- Vera Louise Edwards, 74, of Dexter died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 13, 1923, at Pyle Town, daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Anna May Middleton Waggoner. She and Mitchel Edwards were married Nov. 19, 1941, at Dexter.
Edwards and her husband owned Edwards Saveway Grocery Store many years. She was a member of Bridge Church of Christ near Pyle Town.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jeanie Barker of Dexter, Donna Barnes of Sunrise Beach; a brother, Verlin Waggoner of Dexter; three grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with Mike Yates and Dale Grissom officiating. Burial will be in Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
