VENIDA CHRISTINE PIERCE

Venida Christine Pierce, 84, of St. Louis died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at St. Louis University Hospital.

She was born Oct. 12, 1914, at Rockview, daughter of William and Martha Elizabeth Estes Ford.

She married David Franklin Pierce Feb. 6, 1933, at Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 19, 1992.

She worked at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis for 27 years, before retiring in 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Pierce of New Baden, Ill., and David Pierce of St. Louis; two daughters, Carol Kayser of St. Louis and Jo Ell Jordan of Perryville; a sister, Vergie Boyle of New York; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
