Funeral for Veneda M. Hente Allison of Cape Girardeau will be held at 8 p.m. today at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Charles Lance will officiate. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at IOOF Cemetery in Monett.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4:30-8 p.m. today.
Allison, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.
She was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Evert and Elma K. Craig Fitzgerald. She first married Walter F. Hente, who preceded her in death. She married the Rev. Ernest L. Allison in 1938. He died July 8, 1971.
Allison had worked at Lowenbaum Dress Factory and Marquette Hotel. She had also been a volunteer with Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.
Allison was a member of the Church of God of America at Monett. After the death of Rev. Allison, she was asked to minister to the congregation.
Survivors include a son, Robert Hente of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Mary Rose of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Clyde Fitzgerald of Fort Elsenore, Calif.; two sisters, Ida Lindsey and Anna Dillingham of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, four sisters, and two brothers.
