Velmer M. Kutscher, 80, of Festus, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Festus Manor Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 12, 1927, at Brazeau, Mo., son of Marten and Amelia Rabolt Kutscher. He married June Wilhelm.
Kutscher retired as a machinist with Otten Products. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal City, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dale Alan (Mary) Kutscher of Jackson, Kenneth Lee (Tammy) Kutscher of Poplar Bluff, Mo., David Lynn (Deborah) Kutscher of Festus; a granddaughter, Kathy Sue (David) Myer; three stepgrandchildren, Daniel Brandt, David Brandt and Christine Fowler; a great-grandson, Gabe Myer; two great-stepgrandchildren, Hayze and Lakota Brandt; and a brother-in-law, Charles "Roy" Penrod.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Laverne Penrod.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal City.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Jarold Rux officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Garden in Crystal City.
