Vanessa Moore

BENTON, Mo. — Vanessa Irene Moore, 64, of Benton died Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 22, 1957, in Denver to Raymond Estel Sr. and Audrey Louise Whitney Horton. She married Rick Joe Moore in 1994.

Vanessa worked at Walmart as a cake designer/decorator. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and wife.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Moore of Benton; three sons, Chris (Della) Moore of Jackson, Steve (Angela) Horton of Briggsdale, Colorado, and Ricky (Brandi) Geisert of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two daughters, Monica Muehlfelt of Scott City and Alissa Moore of Berthoud, Colorado; brother, Mickey Horton of Denver; two sisters, Virginia Evans of Kansas and Anita Fikan of Colorado; and 11 grandchildren.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond Horton Jr.; and two sisters, Shirley Nash and Ramona Mitchem.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
