DONGOLA, Ill. -- Van "Hap" Holshouser, 80, of Dongola, died Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Dongola, son of Guy and Ina Dillow Holshouser. He and Jean Treece were married April 12, 1946. She died Nov. 28, 1972. He later married Anita Brown Helm, who died Oct. 16, 1987...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Van "Hap" Holshouser, 80, of Dongola, died Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Dongola, son of Guy and Ina Dillow Holshouser. He and Jean Treece were married April 12, 1946. She died Nov. 28, 1972. He later married Anita Brown Helm, who died Oct. 16, 1987.

Holshouser was a member of Anna United Methodist Church and Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Cloyd of Grover, Mo., Sue Smith of St. Cloud, Fla., and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Sullins officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3455.
