Funeral service for Valma J. Dye of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Culbertson officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Dye, 61, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1936, at Bloomfield, daughter of Raymond L. and Naomi Ruth Williams Duffey. She married Owen Dye Aug. 21, 1955, at Bloomfield.
Dye was employed at Bridgeport Realty six years. She had been a volunteer with the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and American Diabetes Association. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jeffrey and Curtis Dye of Jackson; a daughter, Deborah Pickett of Metropolis, Ill.; a brother, Ray Duffey of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Wanda Risenhoover of St. Louis, Nelda Warrick of Bloomfield, Doris Blankenship of New Madrid; a stepbrother, Bill Collins of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother.
